Giving Old Frames New Life
I believe that pre-loved things deserve just as much care and appreciation as new ones. To me, age does not mean something has lost its value, nor does something need to be new to be beautiful.
That is why I love giving old frames a new life. For selected pieces in my Wild West collection, I hand-rework second-hand frames using reclaimed premium leather offcuts sourced from a luxury automotive retailer that would otherwise go to waste. By giving these high-quality materials a new purpose, I create distinctive frames that are as individual as the artworks they hold.
The leather and frames may show natural variations, imperfections and traces of their previous lives. The frames have a rustic, handmade feel, making each piece unique.
Choosing the leather for each painting and frame is a creative process of its own — one that I can easily lose myself in. I explore colors, textures and combinations until the materials feel right for the artwork they will surround.
To me, framing is an artform in itself. Each piece of leather is cut by hand and every pre-loved frame is prepared and reworked with care.
Rather than erasing the past, I want to bring out the character of each frame and give it a new chapter alongside the artwork it holds.
As each frame carries its own history and distinctive details, I hope it will be treated with a little extra care and gentleness, allowing its unique qualities to be cherished for years to come.
